Granting authority: European Education and Culture Executive Agency
Grant managed through EU Funding & Tenders Portal: Yes (eGrants)
Project starting date: fixed date: 1 January 2025
Project end date: 31 December 2027
The goal of the project is to implement the principles of Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11) — aimed at making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable — into bachelor’s degree programs in transport technologies at universities in Ukraine and Moldova.
The ISDEGO project is focused on advancing modern transport education and research on sustainable transport operations, road safety, and the environmental aspects of urban and suburban mobility. As part of the project implementation, the following activities are planned:
Establishing an educational laboratory equipped with the latest hardware and software for research in the field of transportation.
Developing international partnerships with leading universities in Europe and Moldova for joint curriculum development, knowledge exchange, and improvement of the educational process.
Hosting international scientific conferences dedicated to the sustainable development of urban transport, intelligent transportation systems, and the implementation of sustainability principles.
Organizing international internships for faculty and students at European universities to integrate best practices into the educational process.
Designing new academic programs tailored to the current labor market demands, with an emphasis on sustainable development, innovative transport technologies, and efficient management.
Target groups of the project:
Short-term benefits: Students and academic staff will gain access to modern educational resources and opportunities for international collaboration.
Long-term benefits: Urban institutions, municipalities, the business sector, and residents of cities and suburban areas will benefit from improved transport services and the sustainable development of urban mobility.
The ISDEGO project opens up new opportunities for scientific and educational cooperation, contributing to the integration of modern technologies into the transport sector and the development of environmentally responsible transport policies.
From 10 to 21 November 2025, representatives of universities from Ukraine and Moldova took part in an international academic mobility programme within the Erasmus+ project ISDEGO.
The training was hosted by four leading European universities:
🇮🇹 University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy)
🇷🇴 Transilvania University of Brașov (Romania)
🇩🇪 Hochschule Wismar – University of Applied Sciences (Germany)
🇵🇱 Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland)
The mobility programme included 18 participants from partner universities of Ukraine and Moldova.
technical visits to Civitavecchia Port and the driverless Metro Line C in Rome;
modules on transport modelling, mobility assessment, and digital mapping (PTV Visum, VISSIM–VISUM);
studying micro-qualifications, digital badges, and university–industry cooperation at Hochschule Wismar;
hands-on work with 3D simulators, UAV image processing, RFID systems, logistics technologies, and electromobility labs in Szczecin;
visits to top-level research and innovation centres such as InnovationPort Wismar, MSCW, and VR/robotics labs in Brașov.
This international mobility strengthens cooperation between Ukrainian, Moldovan, and European universities, supports the integration of #SDG into transport education, and brings leading European practices into academic programmes and research initiatives.
As part of the ISDEGO Project (Implementation of Sustainable Urban DevElopment Goals in Transport Bachelor Degree), the First International Scientific and Educational Seminar – “ISDEGO: European Experience” was held on 8–9 May 2025 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (UNITOV).
🔹 The seminar programme focused on key aspects of sustainable urban transport, digital innovation, and mobility:
The seminar brought together academic experts, researchers, and educators from ISDEGO partner universities in Poland, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova.
📡 The event was also streamed online for international participants.
